Contessa 32

CONTESSA 32

Designed by David Sadler in 1970, the Contessa 32 was created from the back of demand for a larger version of the Contessa 26 (launched by Jeremy Rogers Ltd in 1965). Demand was high and the initial waiting list was over two years long, over the following decade 500 Contessa 32s were built in the Rogers' boat yard. Production stopped in 1983 after an excess of 700 had been sold around the world. Jeremy Rogers bought back the mould in 1996 after rebuilding the business from scratch after bankruptcy and resumed production on a bespoke, hand-crafted basis. Over 20 of these new Contessa 32s have been built since and an update to the specification saw the creation of three models; Pure, Expedition, and Classic.

THE BRIEF - We needed to create a simple and elegant promotional video for Jeremy Roger's famous Contessa 32 sailing yachts with the aim to re-establish the well-known and respected Contessa brand.

THE SOLUTION - We filmed over a four day period in variable weather conditions and conducted interviews with key figures within the sailing industry, along with their most recent satisfied customer, creating a clean and modern perspective on the Contessa brand. We have had a very strong positive reaction from the Contessa community and have helped reignite an interest in what is one of the UK's most famous yacht building companies.

"RMP Filmmakers are all you can ask for in a production company. They are professional, yet fun to work with. They are flexible and fit in around our schedule. Most importantly, they produced a cracking short film at a reasonable price. We couldn't recommend them highly enough." - Kit Rogers, Managing Director
